Susie Hancox is a Torquinian and has always been interested in Art, Drawing and Painting. Her first classes were on Saturday mornings at the Vivian Institute in Fleet Street, Torquay at the age of 8.
At Torquay Girls' Grammar School she gained both O and A level in Art, followed by a foundation course in 1957 at Newton Abbot Art School.
Subsequently she attended courses at several Art schools including Tunbridge Wells, Eastbourne and Hastings, specialising in Life Drawing. She studied and gained an A level in Art History in 1988.
She uses pencil and wash, waterclour and mixed media for floral paintings and still life. She has held several exhibitions in Surrey and Torquay.
Her other interests include traditional jazz, aromatherapy, and making jewellry and playing her piano.

Sadly she does not wish to contribute to this site but has given permission to Thalia for some of her images to be displayed.
