St Martins is the Parish Church serving Hörlebach. All the Rothermels were baptized, married and buried here. It is a 3 km walk or horseride over the fields from the village. The Parish records are now kept in the State Archives in Stuttgart.

The womens punishment stocks in the market square. Women who had 'sinned' (prostitutes etc) were hung here on market day for all to view for 24 hours. The citizens threw debris and rotten tomatoes at them

The most famous citizen of Schwäbisch Hall - Thomas Schweicker (6.12.1540 to 7.10.1602) - had a genetic defect and was born without arms. He was considered a Monster in medical terms and his case has been studied throughout the world by medical clinicians over the past five centuries. He created exquisite manuscripts and copper plates with his feet.
